John F. Kennedy’s grandson has been ridiculed after being hired by Trump-nemesis Chuck Schumer to help Democrats celebrate America’s upcoming 250th birthday.
Jack Schlossberg, a social media personality who has made headlines with a number of inappropriate outbursts, was appointed to the America 250 Commission by the New York Senator.
The role will see the Kennedy heir collaborate with Congress to prepare celebrations across the nation for the landmark anniversary.
But many questioned Schumer’s choice to bring the firebrand Democrat scion on board, and pointed to his recent controversies including demanding Megyn Kelly expose her genitals because she criticized Benjamin Netanyahu.
In reaction to Schumer’s post announcing the move, in which the Senator said he ‘can’t think of a better person than Jack’ for the role, X users quickly piled on.
‘Actually Chuck, Jack Schlossberg is the LAST person that should be part of the 250 Commission,’ attorney Sue Ellena responded.
Ellena cited one of Schlossberg’s many ill-advised social media posts, where he mocked his uncle RFK Jr’s ‘Make America Healthy Again (MAHA)’ slogan with a vulgar fake recipe for a ‘MAHA energy ball’ made of coconut meat along with, ‘Jew blood’ and semen.
Schlossberg announced his new role alongside Schumer on Tuesday as he said it was an ‘honor’ to be chosen.
‘Thank you @SenSchumer for this appointment and responsibility, and for your leadership at this critical hour – I won’t let you down,’ he said on X.
The Democrat heir then followed up that post with another aimed at CNN analyst Scott Jennings.
‘Scott Jennings rumor I heard — not sure if true — Drinks own pee,’ he wrote.
The unsavory post is in keeping with Schlossberg’s social media habits, which many pointed to as they flooded the announcement posts on X.
One questioned his qualifications, saying that Schlossberg has a famous last name and questionably social media history, but no ‘actual experience planning a national milestone’.
Another X user responded: ‘OMG… Schlossberg is a nut.’
In response to Schumer’s decision, another bemused social media user said: ‘You’re kidding. Really? He’s a freaking mess, but okay.’
Schumer said he was giving Schlossberg the position ‘to push back at Donald Trump’, who will want his own ideas to dominate America’s birthday.
‘You’ll be there to stop him,’ Schumer reassured.
Schlossberg then ranted about how the 250th anniversary needed to go against what he sees as Trump’s values.
‘Thank you, Senator, for this honor, for your leadership. For the honor of this appointment,’ he said.
‘We are the heirs of our first revolution 250 years ago and at our best moments, our country has lived up to our founding documents, but we have not always come through.
‘Right now, our civil rights are under attack, equal justice is under attack, scientific progress is under attack and I want to make sure that we celebrate our country for all of its colors and there is no more important task than celebrating our history for the sake of our future.’
Schumer’s Instagram post continued: ‘I’m thrilled to announce I’m appointing Jack Schlossberg @jackuno to the America 250 Commission.
‘We need someone who will make sure America’s 250th birthday celebrates our nation and our values. And I can’t think of a better person than Jack to take on that mission.’
