A crash between a car and motorbike on the Sydney Harbour Bridge has now cleared, but traffic remains heavy.
The collision occurred on the Bradfield Highway at Milsons Point just before 7am, bringing traffic in and out of the CBD to a standstill.
Live traffic cameras showed bumper-to-bumper congestion, with northbound vehicles barely moving during peak hour.
Emergency services responded quickly to the scene.
A male motorcyclist in his 30s was treated by paramedics for suspected lower leg fractures and an arm injury. He was transported to hospital in a stable condition.
All lanes on the Harbour Bridge had reopened by 7.40am, although residual delays continued in both directions for some time.
The crash caused widespread knock-on delays across the road network, with city-bound commuters among the worst affected.
