The New York Yankees are anxiously awaiting scan results after star man Aaron Judge reported discomfort in his right elbow.
He has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against Philadelphia Phillies at Yankee Stadium, with manager Aaron Boone saying Judge first felt pain Tuesday night after a throw from right field against Toronto Blue Jays.
Judge played Friday night in the team’s 12-5 loss to the Phillies but rhe issue left him struggling to throw the ball properly, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Saturday.
‘Obviously, you guys asked about it in Toronto, but he felt like it was fine on the off day,’ Boone explained. ‘Then, Friday night, he couldn’t really throw well from the outfield, so he came in today and got imaging on that.
‘He got imaging today. We will wait on that. Obviously it’s a concern, again we’ll wait and see as they read the imaging. Hopefully have more on that later today.’
Boone said he didn’t think Judge felt any pain holding the bat but added: ‘We want to get this checked out. Hopefully it is something that is manageable and that we can get through.’

Other than that, Boone offered little more to reporters before the Phillies game and would not speculate over fears of how serious an issue it might be.
Asked if he feared Judge had a UCL tear, which would require Tommy John surgery likely sidelining him until 2027, Boone simply said: ‘I don’t know.’
Judge, 33, has been in blistering form in 2025 with 37 home runs to his name this season but the Yankees have been badly out of form lately.
They have fallen down to second in the AL East standings, six wins behind leaders Blue Jays, with a stuttering win record that has fallen under .500 since May. They are only win ahead of the Boston Red Sox, in third.
Saturday’s game in the Bronx was meant to represent a potential change in fortune for the Yankees with Ryan McMahon is making his first start for his new team after being traded from the Colorado Rockies on Friday.
His arrival at third base signals an end to a problem area for the Yankees this season and their losing form of late has been littered by errors in the infield.
But all that hope for better days ahead among the Yankees fanbase will be blown away if Judge has significant elbow damage.
The Yankees are expected to add reinforcements to the bullpen before the trade deadline on July 31 at 6pm eastern time.
But if the scan returns bad news, Boone and executive Brian Cashman will have a big decision to make about how they handle the next few days,
