A Beverly Hills bodyguard has revealed a chilling phone call with American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye just two months before she and her husband were murdered in cold-blood at their Los Angeles mansion.
Kris Herzog is a top Hollywood protection consultant who has worked with celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears.
Herzog said he spoke to a ‘rattled’ Kaye, 70, in May after a burglar broke into her kitchen while she and her musician husband Thomas Deluca, also 70, were home.
The intruder fled but the terrifying incident prompted Kaye to call multiple companies about upgrading the security at their $4.5million Encino property.
The owner of The Bodyguard Group said that at the time he considered it a ‘nothing call’ – one he gets all the time from potential clients.
But just two months later Kaye and Deluca were found shot in the head at home, and Herzog told the Daily Mail he is ‘haunted’ by the conversation.
The couple’s bodies are believed to have laid in the property for several days before police discovered them on Monday, July 14.
Police said the believed the suspect scaled the walls of their home and entered via an open door. Less than 24 hours later, Raymond Boodarian, 22, was arrested by police with guns drawn at his home in nearby Reseda.

Constant burglaries in Encino had prompted talk about buying guns, setting up a neighborhood watch and paying private guards to patrol the lavish homes.
Kaye and DeLuca experienced the crime first hand, but were unable to install any security upgrades before it was too late.
Herzog, 58, told the Daily Mail he had stressed to Kaye the importance of having personal protection in her home for self defense.
Herzog said he also told her surveillance cameras frequently ‘lull you into a false sense of security’.
‘They never save your life’ he said.
‘All they actually accomplish is to record your death. This is just the first time my prediction came true. They got her killed.
‘They had an extensive camera system and it lulled them into a sense of security enough to leave a door unlocked.
‘No one is going to be awake at two in the morning, staring at your cameras, seeing some guy climb the wall. So it’s not just her and her husband.’
He strongly advised homeowners to have weapons in the home for personal protection – such as guns or even powerful bear mace.
‘If you are adverse to having a gun in your home, then buy 10 cans of bear spray that shoots a hundred feet, hide them all over your house’, said Herzog.

Herzog said he stressed to Kaye the importance of having personal protection in her home for self defense
‘Whatever it is, you have to get something that gives you the immediate ability to physically defend yourself on a moment’s notice.
‘You have to have something for immediate defense. If you don’t have it, you’re just waiting to be another crime victim.
‘If somebody breaks into your house while you’re home, or you come home like they did and stumble upon them.’
Herzog’s company’s rates start at $400 per hour for an off-duty police officer for personal and property protection.

Some of his current and retired law enforcement contractors have also worked as security detail on the set of American Idol.
Of the slain couple, Kaye said: ‘Now that I’m looking back on it, it’s kind of haunting. I wish they would listen to me. They might still be alive.
‘That she actually got murdered with her husband – I’m not much of a p***y, but it’s f***ing haunting.
‘It’s sad. It’s scary.’
