The lead singer of music duo Bob Vylan told his fans not to chant ‘Death to the IDF’ at their first gig since their controversial Glastonbury performance.

Bobby Vylan, 34, whose real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster, warned audience members in the sold-out surprise performance in London on Wednesday that they would get him in trouble if they chanted the phrase.

The singer led chants calling for the death of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and ‘Free, free Palestine’ at the West Holts stage of the legendary festival last month.

Last week Avon and Somerset Police said it had launched a probe into the performance after reviewing video footage and audio recordings, with a senior detective appointed to lead the investigation.

And at their latest performance at the 100 Club in Soho, London, Robinson-Foster said: ‘I’m going to keep my talking to a minimum today because that’s what got us in trouble in the first f***king place.’

Fans then started to repeat the Glastonbury chant of ‘death, death to the IDF’ but were swiftly shut down by the musician.

Robinson-Foster told them: ‘You are going to get me in trouble, apparently every other chant is fine but yous lot [sic] will get me in trouble’, before leading the crowd in chants of ‘Free, free Palestine”, according to the Guardian.

The band ended their performance by holding aloft the Palestinian flag as the singer told the crowd they were a loving band and said: ‘We love the Palestinian people’.

He added: ‘Their strength, their resilience, their ability to keep on going in the face of it all is a beautiful and inspiring thing. So as hard as this week may have been for us, it has been nothing in comparison to what the Palestinian people are going through right now.

‘That is where the attention should be. That is where the focus should be. That is where these politicians and media outlets should be focusing their attention right now, not on the words or the actions of a f****** punk band. It is ridiculous and it only speaks to the ridiculous state of this country right now.’

Following the controversy the duo were  dropped from the bill at upcoming music festivals in Manchester and France, as well as a scheduled gig in Germany.

And now the Campaign Against Antisemitism charity has revealed new live footage of the group as they called for further action.

Bob Vylan’s rapper frontman is seen addressing a crowd with the words: ‘How do you lot feel about the police? The only good pig is a dead pig.’

CAA said they understood the incident to have occurred at Rebellion Festival in Blackpool in August 2023.

It comes as new footage appeared to show Bob Vlan supporting the deaths of police officers – telling gig-goers: ‘The only good pig is a dead pig.’

A spokesperson for Campaign Against Antisemitism said: ‘Before they were calling for ‘Death to the IDF’, we can reveal that Bob Vylan were insulting police officers and extolling ‘dead pigs’.

‘Calling for the death of people you dislike isn’t art – it’s cheap and dangerous. It should carry consequences.

‘We have alerted police in Lancashire and Somerset, who are already investigating the Glastonbury performance.’

has contacted representatives of Bob Vylan for comment.
