alert-–-16-and-pregnant-star-whitney-purvis-breaks-silence-after-missing-teenage-son’s-funeralAlert – 16 and Pregnant star Whitney Purvis breaks silence after missing teenage son’s funeral

Whitney Purvis spoke out on Wednesday, days after missing the funeral of her 16-year-old son Weston Gosa Jr. who died tragically earlier this month.

The 16 and Pregnant star, 32, took to Facebook to share her side of the story after reports surfaced claiming she was denied entry to the service by her son’s father Weston Gosa Sr.

A source alleged that Gosa Sr. told Purvis the funeral would begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, but when she arrived, she discovered it had actually started at 2 p.m. and that she wasn’t on the guest list, according to TMZ,

Gosa Sr. disputed that account, telling the outlet he informed Purvis the viewing was at 2 p.m. and the service would begin at 4 p.m., but claimed she arrived after 4:15 p.m., by which time the chapel doors were already locked.

Now, Purvis is pushing back in the fiery social media post, accusing Gosa Sr. of intentionally keeping her out of the ceremony.

‘This is a long post but I need to finally vent,’ she wrote. ‘I’ve let my son’s father and wife bash me online and make up their own narrative to make me sound horrible for years, but I’m gonna stand up for myself this time.’

She continued, ‘No one deserves to go thru what they put me thru. Just to clear up some things… what happened over the weekend, my son’s funeral was this past Saturday.

‘My son’s father told me it was at four, and if you don’t know, we have a horrible relationship. No matter how hard I’ve tried to get along, he has always refused and will always do his best to make sure I suffer.’

‘You would think with little Weston dying that we could put our differences aside, right? Nope. It always has to be drama.

‘You had to be on a list to get into the funeral. Guess who wasn’t on the list? Me and all my friends and family were not allowed to come in. I HAVE SEVERAL WITNESSES who heard the funeral home tell me I was not on the list, as well as themselves.’

Purvis then alleged, ‘It wouldn’t matter what time I got there—I wasn’t getting in.’

‘If that wasn’t sick enough, they tried to spin it around and say I was 2 hours late to his funeral and I knew it was at two. Like come the hell on, I would never!! Use your brain! Who would come 2 hrs late? I was told four! Why would I tell everyone to come at 4?”

‘The truth is he didn’t want me there or my family and friends,’ she alleged.

DailyMail.com has not received a response to its request for comment from Weston Gosa Sr.

Purvis claimed that even close friends and family members, including a cousin who had donated money to funeral expenses, were turned away from the service.

‘That is some evil sh** to do to someone,’ she wrote. ‘Why could we not just celebrate our love for Weston?’

She went on to accuse Gosa Sr. of denying her court-ordered visitation with their children and portraying her as an unfit parent online.

Purvis admitted she struggled financially and could not afford legal representation to fight back in court.

‘My biggest downfall was being poor,’ she said, stating she didn’t have access to the same resources Gosa Sr. did, such as legal help and family support.

Despite her hardships, she insisted she was a loving, hands-on mother who made birthdays and holidays special and spent meaningful time with her children.

Reflecting on their son’s death, Purvis claimed Gosa Sr. briefly acted with kindness to get her to sign cremation papers, but returned to what she described as ‘spiteful’ behavior once she complied.

She said he promised to give her a portion of Weston’s ashes but ultimately withheld the urn.

Purvis ended the post by acknowledging her own imperfections as a parent but insisted she didn’t deserve the pain she’s endured.

‘I’m grieving, I just lost my son, and for him to do this to me is sickening and pure evil,’ she said. ‘

In Western Gosa Sr.’s account to TMZ, he claimed he expressly informed Whitney and all other invited guests that the funeral would start at 4pm sharp after the viewing at 2pm.

According to him, he called Whitney and invited her to the service a week in advance, while warning her the event would have a strictly controlled guest list.

Weston Sr. asserted that a number of Whitney’s family members arrived at 3pm and were able to attend the funeral, such as her mother, aunt and uncle.

He claimed Whitney showed up past 4:15pm and was consequently confronted with locked chapel doors and the funeral director telling her the service was underway so she could not go in, to which she responded angrily.

At around 5:10pm, Weston Sr. alleged, Whitney began texting him that he was ‘evil’ for barring her from her their son’s memorial service.

As per his version of events, she claimed over text that she was not on the guest list and he replied with a picture indicating that she was.

Weston Sr. added that on compassionate grounds, he and Amy have purchased a separate urn for some of Weston Jr.’s ashes that Whitney can keep.

'This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don't understand,' Whitney wrote on Monday

‘This is so hard to write. My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don’t understand,’ she said

When news of Weston Jr.’s death broke earlier this month, his stepmother Amy Gosa wrote on Facebook: ‘We do not know the cause, they will do an autopsy soon but all we know is we got up this morning around 7 am and tried to wake him up, he was not breathing, we attempted cpr and called an ambulance.’

She added that the paramedics also attempted CPR, ‘and took him to the hospital in Gordon County where he was pronounced dead. He had several health issues as well as diabetes.’

In her post announcing her son’s death, Whitney wrote: ‘Oh my baby is gone and I don’t know what to do with myself. He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true.

‘How do you go on in life after losing a child? I’m in disbelief, this cannot be happening. I don’t want it to be real. I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can’t describe the pain I am feeling,’ she added.

‘I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa. God, I love you so much. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming. I just can’t go on without you. Rest in Peace, my angel. You are gone too soon. April 2, 2009 – June 2, 2025,’ she concluded.

Weston Sr. wrote in his own tribute: ‘You’ll forever be my lil boy. I’ll live the rest of my days with you in my heart. God I wish this was all just a bad dream. You’re free now from all the complications you had to deal with for the last 6 years or so. Fly high baby boy, daddy loves you more than you could have ever known.’

Amy Gosa’s post said: ‘We are completely heartbroken and in shock. It was so unexpected.’

She added: ‘Losing a child is the most painful thing I have ever experienced and I hope I never experience it again,’ she added.

Amy continued: ‘He was the most amazing son I could have asked for. He was brilliant, smart, funny and had so much potential in life. It doesn’t feel real.’

She concluded: ‘Please keep our family and Whitney in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn such a brilliant amazing life that was our son. Thank you.’

Whitney added in another post, ‘Rest in Peace, my baby Weston. I love you forever, precious. I’ll never understand why life has to be so cruel. You’ll always be my baby.’

Weston was born during the first season of MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, to Whitney’s boyfriend at the time, Weston Lewis Gosa.

While the show ultimately spawned MTV’s Teen Mom franchise, Whitney was one of just two moms not picked to appear in that show, along with Ebony Jackson.

Weston Owen Gosa Jr. was born April 2, 2009, with Whitney giving birth to their second son River in 2014, just before they split up again.

Whitney ultimately lost custody of both sons to Weston Sr., and she was arrested last year for failing to make child support payments.

Weston Sr. has been arrested multiple times as well for driving on a suspended license, while both Whitney and Weston Sr. were arrested for smashing electronics in 2012.
