‘Zach had a charisma about him and the uncanny ability to light up any room he walked into,’ Muckleroy’s company wrote.

‘He had a charitable heart that made lasting impacts on the Fort Worth Community. He treasured his family and was a proud alumni of TCU.’

The former college football player took over as CEO of the family business three years ago, according to his LinkedIn page.

A vigil was held for the victims of the crash at the University Christian Church in Fort Worth on Friday night and hundreds of people attended.

Senior minister Russ Peterman said he has been informed on Lauren’s condition since the crash and that she has undergone multiple surgeries and woken up.

‘She’s aware that she lost her family. You can only imagine how hard that must be,’ he said.

‘Waking up to know your entire family is lost, I can’t imagine.’

He added that generations of the Muckleroy family had attended his church over the years.

‘Zach was not only a member of the congregation but a friend as well. I love that family. Those kids are amazing. Lauren is a fighter,’ Reverend Peterman said.

‘He seemed to know everybody in the room and everybody knew him.’

He asked church members to pray for the family and added: ‘This gracious family is now forced to deal with the most tragic, unimaginable situation.’

The former mayor of Fort Worth Betsy Price is close friends with Muckleroy’s parents and shared memories of him as a child at the vigil.

‘We were all in Sunday school together,’ she said. ‘It’s unbelievable. The Muckleroys are just pillars of our community and great Christian folks, great family folks, good business people.’

He graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Accounting and Finance with a Real Estate Concentration in 2002.

Muckleroy played for the college football team in 1998.

Former coach Gary Patterson shared news of his tragic death on X.

‘With a heavy heart I just wanted to follow up with any of you that hadn’t heard that last night we lost a great Horn Frog, husband, dad and friend Zach Muckleroy and their two children Lindsay and Judson in a head on collision,’ he wrote.
