For her part, Swift is already fighting back after she was dramatically subpoenaed last week by Baldoni’s legal team. In a statement, her publicist insisted, ‘Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film. She did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release.’

Be that as it may, according to the letter exclusively revealed by the Daily Mail this week, Lively’s team had pressured Swift to make a statement in support of the actress or face seeing private messages splashed across headlines.

When Lively and Swift first met, the singer was in the throes of a relationship with British DJ Calvin Harris, 41, that ran from February 2015 to May 2016, ending with recriminations over alleged cheating on her part.

Next came upper-crust English actor Tom Hiddleston, who started dating Swift the same month she broke up with Harris.

That fling, which fizzled out after a few months, infamously saw him photographed wearing an ‘I HEART TS’ vest during an Independence Day beach trip to Rhode Island that resulted in widespread ridicule.

An insider told the Daily Mail at the time that Swift had become ‘uncomfortable’ over Hiddleston’s desire to be ‘so public’ with their romance.

‘Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public, so quickly, makes her uncomfortable,’ The source added. ‘She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons.’
