Pamela Anderson has voiced her love of her dazzling Met Gala look that she wore to the star-studded event in New York City on Monday night.

The actress, 57, was the epitome of elegance in a bejewelled long-sleeve Tory Burch gown as she posed on the floral carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The show-stopping number was encrusted in layers of intricate beading, jewels and sequins and clung to ever inch of her incredible figure, while boasting an exaggerated silhouette

Pamela added even more sparkle with a diamond ear cuff and ditched her long platinum blonde tresses to debut a new short bob with blunt bangs.

Continuing her recent embrace of a more natural look, the Last Showgirl star showcased her beauty with minimal makeup.

However, several trolls took to social media to criticise her look and new hairdo as ‘frumpy’, ‘unflattering’ and ‘painfully dull’.

They tweeted: ‘The bangs and the death metal crunch of that gown does nothing to enhance the beauty of her figure. I’m highly offended by this designer. She did not have to appear so matronly.’

‘I guess she was going for the frumpy old lady look?’; ‘She’s beautiful but I don’t think this was the best dress they could have selected for her.’

‘Pamela Anderson’s facecard but her dress is giving foil’; ‘I actually admire Pamela for aging gracefully overall, but that dress is unflattering, ill fitting and ugly.’

‘I get what she is doing but this dress and those bangs aren’t flattering to her! She can still be covered and no makeup as she is naturally beautiful but this isn’t the best look for her!’; ‘

‘Pamela Anderson is a legend, but this look is painfully dull’; ‘I want to like her outfit but she’s so stiff she reminds me of a salt shaker’; ‘That is the most unflattering gown ever…’

‘Her hair is all wrong for this dress. The baby bangs don’t work for her face shape. And the dress is not flattering to her figure. But she walks with confidence and feels good in what she’s wearing so good for her.’

‘I really like Pamela Anderson. But I am not in love with her choice of hairstyle this time.’; ‘The dress do not suits her+ ugly haircut + not on theme’; ‘That dress and hairstyle makes her look very matronly. Not flattering.’

‘The dress looks like she was wrapped in tinfoil and then had it scrunched up….. her hair. Just awful… she’s prettier than this. She needs to fire whoever styled her’.

However, Pamela soon took to her Instagram to voice her own opinion of her look and summed up her verdict in just three words.

She shared a slew of behind-the-scenes photos from the fashion event of the year, which she attended with her son Brandon Thomas Lee, 28.

And in the caption she penned: ‘Bold… Brave… Precise. A celebration of courage and craftsmanship. Thank you for the invitation—an honor. Love, P’.

As her fans flooded the comments with praise for Pamela’s look, Met Gala favourite Katy Perry also voiced her love of the outfit.

The pop star – who was absent from this year’s event – commented: ‘One of my favorite looks! And the hair was the cherry ❤️’.

While others gushed: ‘WOW this hair and this look are perfection’; ‘Absolutely sublime! You look ethereal!’ ‘THE MOST GORGEOUS GIRL IN THE WORLD’.

‘You look fabulous! Love this new hair on you!’; ‘Bold, brave, and BOB!! love the hair!!!!’; ‘Pamela Anderson is a goddess!’

‘Stunning as always! Pamela brings timeless glam to the Met. ✨’; ‘beauty. Old hollywood glam vibes.’

While on the red carpet Pamela revealed her glam ‘only took a few minutes’ calling it ‘very simple’.

She also posed with the designer of her gown, Tory, 58, at the event, who praised Pamela as ‘otherworldly’ and said she was beautiful ‘inside and out.’

Meanwhile Brandon, whom she shares with rocker ex Tommy Lee, 62, looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo.

Pamela made her Met Gala debut last year in a flowing Oscar de la Renta gown, channeling Old Hollywood glamour.

After several decades in the spotlight, the star has shocked fans with bold beauty and fashion changes in recent years, including opting to go makeup-free for red carpet occasions.

She’s turned a corner in her career over the last year, gaining critical acclaim for her 2024 starring role in The Last Showgirl.

The beauty earned her first Golden Globe nomination with the release of the Gia Coppola-directed feature, and amassed Oscar buzz.

However, the film did not become a contender when the 2025 Academy Awards nominee list was unveiled in January.

Pamela was a good sport about the snub, telling Elle magazine at the time, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s not something I ever expected. Doing the work is the win.’

Other big names at this year’s event included Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya, Gigi Hadid and Simone Biles.

Every year on the first Monday of May, a series of A-listers gather in their most extravagant looks for a lavish ball hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

The annual invite-only event has a theme each year, with this year’s theme as ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,’ inspired by Monica Miller’s work, which includes her book Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

It is meant to pay homage to black dandyism, a style with European roots which started post-Emancipation and came out in full force during the Harlem Renaissance.

Monica is the chair of Africana Studies at Barnard College, as well as a professor at the institute.

According to Monica, black dandyism is ‘a strategy and a tool to rethink identity, to reimagine the self in a different context. To really push a boundary – especially during the time of enslavement, to really push a boundary on who and what counts as human, even,’ via Vogue.

The 2025 gala theme focuses on menswear, 22 years after the ‘Men In Skirts’ theme – which was the first gala to focus only on menswear.

The Met Gala 2025 will be co-chaired by Wintour, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, and Pharrell Williams.

NBA icon LeBron James was one of six athletes named to the committee of the 2025 Met Gala. Unfortunately, the Lakers star won’t be attending.
