A homeowner has been mocked online after listing their four-bedroom detached Tamworth property on rightmove due to an ‘unusual’ feature.
The cosy Midlands home is located on a quiet residential street in the town for the relatively high price of £599,000.
Each of the properties bedrooms is airy and spacious and the house is kitted out with all the modern amenities one could need.
But commenters on notorious Reddit thread ‘Spotted on rightmove’ found themselves inexplicably drawn to the house’s central feature: a swimming pool in their garden.
The pool, which is the centre piece of the small garden, was derided by Redditors who claimed it looked ‘very tacky’ in the Birmingham suburb.
One user laughed: ‘They are going for LA megamansion vibes….but in Tamworth.’
‘That’s like if I left my 10yo playing the Simms for the entire Easter holidays’, another joked.
‘“Low maintenance back garden” – that just so happens to feature a swimming pool…’, observed another dryly.
Another apparently well-travelled commenter poured scorn over the idea that an outdoor UK pool would ever be used or cost-effective.
They said: ‘After living in the south of France for 5 years, and enjoying good weather for 10 months out of 12, I can never see the point of a uncovered swimming pool in the UK.
‘I wonder how much it costs to maintain this versus the number of times the pool is used.’
‘An uncovered outdoor pool in this climate, in this economy…’, agreed another.
The property went on the market in November last year and is being marketed by local estate agent Wilkins.
