Tourists and young families at a popular Gold Coast lagoon were appalled by a couple allegedly having sex in the water in broad daylight as kids watched on nearby.
One witness revealed on Facebook how they could see the pair’s antics visible in the background of the daily 1.30pm pelican feeding at Labrador’s Ian Dipple Lagoon,
‘We were in disbelief. The couple were engaging in these sexual acts fully knowing there were onlookers, many of whom were families with young children,’ they said.
The witness said the man later walked up to them and asked for money, saying that he ‘doesn’t perform for free’.
‘He demanded we instantly hand him our phones or give payment for having watched his so-called performance,’ they said.
‘This is a warning for anyone frequenting the lagoon to please keep an eye out for the man as I got the impression he is a regular,’ they said.
The witness said they told the man they would give the footage to the police and ducked into the nearby Grand View Hotel to get away from him.
There is a large children’s playground on the foreshore to the lagoon at Harley Park and commenters labelled the bizarre act ‘feral’ and the man’s follow up as ‘creepy’.
In November, a similar incident occurred at Coogee Beach in Sydney.
The after-dark romp on the sand in full view of onlookers at Coogee Beach, in Sydney’s east, about 9pm on Sunday night was filmed by a shocked local, who shared the footage with Daily Mail .
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said the couple performed the lewd act as onlookers walked past and watched.
‘They literally thought no one would see them – how stupid are they?’ he said.
‘I can’t believe they did that right next to families walking by in a crowded area.’
And back in April last year, another couple were caught in the same brazen beachside act on a sandbar on the Maroochy River on the Sunshine Coast.
Dozens of social media users flooded a post exposing the pair with comments.
‘Love island?’ one person said, while someone else posted: ‘Sunny coast is feeling more and more like the Gold Coast every year.’
Another added: ‘If I had kids and they saw that I’d be furious. It’s just respect for other people.’
