Jenna Ortega exuded gothic glam as she attended the premiere of her upcoming A24 film Death Of A Unicorn in New York City on Tuesday. 

The Wednesday actress, 22 – who recently turned heads in a chic look at the SXSW Film Festival – joined other cast and crew at the event which took place at the AMC Lincoln Theater in the Big Apple. 

The star took on a leading role alongside Paul Rudd in the horror comedy – which is set to officially release later this month on March 28. 

Ortega wowed wearing a strapless, black dress that clung to her frame and contained an asymmetrical neckline at the top. 

A sparkling, silver bet buckle was added at the top for a unique flare while a thigh-high slit could be seen on the left side. 

Jenna additionally slipped into a pair of closed-toed, black heels to coincide with the color scheme of the look.

Ortega opted for minimal accessories to allow the outfit to be the main focal point, and added dainty silver earrings and a few rings on each of her hands. 

The actress’s makeup was glammed up for the evening, and comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a thick, winged black eyeliner. 

A warm blush was added to better accentuate her cheekbones, while a nude-colored glossy tint was worn on her lips for a finishing touch. 

At one point, the beauty was seen crossing paths with director Alex Scharfman, and the two paused for a memorable snap together. 

During a past interview with Allure, Jenna opened up about how her character of Wednesday in the hit Netflix series has influenced her personal sense of style. 

‘I definitely have always loved wearing all black. I don’t know who doesn’t, it’s just such a classic go-to. I think everyone looks good in it.’

The star added that Wednesday Addams, ‘encouraged me to embrace that side of myself more.

‘I’ve always had immense respect for goth culture and music, so after becoming even more familiar and growing a deeper admiration for that sort of aesthetic, I do find myself casually weaving it into my day-to-day life more and more.’

Earlier this month, Jenna reflected on working with Paul Rudd – who is also known for Ant-Man, Clueless and This Is 40. 

‘Fortunately, we got on, we had a couple of conversations, we started shooting a day or two after we met,’ the actress said, per Deadline.   

Paul replied with, ‘Fortunately, we had the experience. Jenna is a daughter in real life, and I’m actually a dad! We hit it off right away, when you’re lucky enough to act with Jenna Ortega, your job is easy because she’s incredible!’ 

Ortega was also an executive producer on the project and told IGN earlier this month, ‘Sometimes, you know, you feel like maybe you need to be a bit more hands on with things. 

‘But I really loved the team behind this film, all the producers are so cool. Just this entire group is some of my favorite people to work with.’

The star then referenced to the director and said, ‘And Alex, he just had so much knowledge and facts and reasons behind everything that he was doing that I think all of us kind of took the step back and allowed him to play. 

‘And I think that’s one of the cool things about working with A24 as well is I feel like they really trust the people that they bring on to do their job.’

Jenna added, ‘And you know, show off their creative skills and talent and just let them be creative and imaginative so I think for me, I just trusted Alex completely. I think we all did.’

The actress showed off her chic side wearing a pair of plaid, brown trousers as well as a matching blazer. 

Jenna also donned a rust-colored shirt and matching satin tie to complete the overall look for the event. 

In a recent review for the horror comedy, The Hollywood Reporter stated that both Ortega and Rudd, ‘add an understated sweetness to Scharfman’s film. 

‘Their relationship, initially splintered by grief, develops in meaningful ways over the course of this unlikely adventure. The pair channel a believable chemistry as father and daughter that lands the emotional poignancy of a penultimate scene.’
