Former Vice President Kamala Harris revealed she used DoorDash to have a bag of Doritos delivered before her husband posted a photo of her watching the Oscars.
‘We did DoorDash ’cause I wanted Doritos. And the red carpet part was about to start and nobody wanted to leave to go to the grocery store,’ Harris said, laughing at her plight. ‘So it was DoorDash.’
Harris revealed the story about her craving for Doritos during a HumanX conference on Artificial intelligence where she was invited to talk about innovation.
Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff posted a photo of the former vice president with a big bowl of Doritos on Oscar night.
It was an apparent effort to ward off rumors she was going to make a surprise appearance at the glitzy Hollywood awards ceremony.
Harris brought up her DoorDash order to talk about the tradeoffs between convenience and privacy.
‘I was willing to give up whatever might be the tracking of Kamala Harris’ particular fondness for nacho cheese Doritos for the sake of getting a big bag of Doritos as I watched the Oscars,’ she said.
At the conference, also used the DoorDash example to discuss innovation, calling for the tech industry to innovate and solve every day problems.
Her rambling answer was likened by critics to one of her infamous ‘word salads’ from the 2024 campaign trail.
She said: ‘To expect that the innovation would also be weighted in terms of solving their everyday problems, which are beyond my craving for Doritos, but about whatever — and I know the work is happening — around, you know, scientific discoveries, for example. To cure long-standing diseases.’

Harris said she would like to see more spending on developing technology to solve other issues that she cared about, especially on housing affordability.
‘I would love it if there would be an investment of resources in solving the affordable housing issue in America. Like help me with that. Help me with that,’ she said.
Harris’ extensive remarks on Doritos and technical innovation triggered widespread mockery online as people voiced their relief she was not elected president in 2024.
Every time you hear Kamala Harris talk, you think it’s not real. Yet somehow, it’s real and it is exactly has bad as it actually is. We dodged a massive bullet in 2024,’ wrote Matt Van Swol on X.
‘Honestly, it is a work of art. She has mastered the ability to use as many words as possible to say absolutely nothing,’ wrote social media user Concerned for Colorado on X.
‘Listening to her makes my ears bleed!’ X user Shelly Holmes wrote simply.

‘This is horrifying. But I can’t look away,’ wrote Kellie L. Aldrich
Harris frequently spoke about her love of Doritos on the campaign trail, as she has long described them as her favorite junk food.
During a 2019 interview with Seth Myers, Harris revealed that she ate an entire family size bag of nacho cheese Doritos on the 2016 election night as she watched Trump win in ‘utter shock and dismay.’
She also pointedly ate Doritos in front of the press where photographers could snap pictures of her chip cravings.
Harris also spoke about Doritos during an interview with radio host Howard Stern.
‘I love Doritos, original nacho,’ she professed.
During an interview on the ‘All the Smoke’ podcast she described Doritos as her ‘guilty pleasure.’
‘One of my guilty pleasures, especially when I’m on the road, are my Doritos,’ she said, specifying she preferred the ‘Nacho, old school, original’ flavor.
‘That’s right. Gotta have a napkin nearby, right?’ she added with a laugh.
