Alert – Married At First Sight’s Ryan Donelly gets called out by experts for rejecting sex with wife Jacqui Burfoot before she breaks down in hysterical sobs

Ryan Donnelly was called out by the experts on Sunday night’s episode of Married at First Sight after his onscreen wife Jacqui Burfoot revealed his bizarre sex rule.

Ryan, 36, and Jacqui, 29, took to the couch during the latest Commitment Ceremony to discuss their progress so far in the experiment, however one revelation in the sex department not only elicited laughs from the group, but a telling off by one expert in particular. 

The bride revealed to the experts that Ryan refuses to have sex before a gym session to ‘preserve his testosterone’, a statement that saw the other participants burst out in laughter and expert John Aiken put his face into his hands. 

‘I actually really respected it,’ she went on to admit.

‘It shows discipline in a man and it shows that he’s got self-control.’

She added: ‘He obviously values his lifestyle and fitness and body very highly which is actually a huge priority for me.’

‘Not at the expense of your needs,’ he comforted her. 

‘Yeah, but it was at the expense of my needs,’ she said as she and Ryan began giggling. 

However, as Jacqui and her partner laughed it off, expert Alessandra Rampolla didn’t see the humour in the situation at all. 

‘I have a question on this whole morning situation,’ she said to Ryan.

After a dramatic silence, she asked: ‘Why were you not just pleasuring her?’ 

Ryan, looking confused, replied: ‘Um, I’m not sure. In what situation, sorry?’

‘In the morning situation that you wanted to maintain your testosterone in your body, you can totally do that and still pleasure her.

‘So what’s up with modern man? Where did he go?’ she sensationally asked, the other participants taken aback by the expert’s apparent sting. 

Ryan was called out for his disinterest in sex with his bride, which left her sobbing 

‘I just feel like it’s hopeless. Like we never really tried’ she wept to which Ryan assured her, ‘It’s not hopeless’

Obviously flustered, Ryan attempted to soothe the situation over, affirming that there needs to be ‘balance’ between his and Jacqui’s needs, even if they’re not ‘identical’. 

‘We are all making light because it is funny,’ Alessandra said, but the expert went on to slam the groom for not reaching a compromise, adding that they both he and Jacquie could be ‘satisfied’.

‘There’s no reason for her to be not satisfied just because you haven’t been to the gym,’ she reiterated. 

Jacqui jumped in, revealing that it wasn’t about the sex at the time but rather Ryan’s inability to be flexible.

‘There’s not willingness to compromise,’ she said. 

‘Which is my point,’ Alessandra chimed in. 

However, Ryan seemed to disagree with the matter, saying: ‘But there has been compromise. There has been from both sides.’ 

Jacqui suddenly burst into wailing, hysterical sobs, shocking Ryan. 

‘I feel like I’m met with so much resistance and it’s just so hard for me to just push through’ the bride carried on

‘I feel like I’m wading through where the current’s just coming back at me with the relationship’ she added

‘What’s wrong?’ he asked her, alarmed. 

‘I just feel like it’s hopeless. Like we never really tried’ she wept to which Ryan assured her, ‘It’s not hopeless.’

‘It is!’ she wailed on, with Ryan replying, ‘It’s not, babe. It’s not.’ 

‘I feel like I’m met with so much resistance and it’s just so hard for me to just push through’ the bride carried on. 

‘I feel like I’m wading through where the current’s just coming back at me with the relationship’ she added. 

Despite the tears, the pair quickly made up and decided to stay on in the experiment. 

‘Genuinely mean it when I say, I love spending time with you. I want it to be the best it can’ Ryan assured his bride. 

Last week, Ryan broke his silence about his sex rule and the backlash he received online as a result, calling Jacqui’s decision to air the private details ‘pure hate bait.’  

Despite the tears, the pair quickly made up and decided to stay on in the experiment

‘Honestly, watching it back, I thought it was boring. Breaking news: Stop everything- husband prefers sex after working out. Good lord. What a revelation,’ he said sarcastically.

But while he brushed off the scandal as ridiculous, Ryan didn’t hold back in criticising Jacqui for bringing up their private conversations on national television.  

‘We’re in one of the most stunning, memorable places in , and Jacqui wants to bring that garbage up? The other girls’ sex lives must have been vanilla as f**k if that became the main topic,’ he scoffed.

Ryan also suggested that Jacqui deliberately framed the story to make him look bad.

‘What do we really think her motivation was? It wasn’t curiosity or a genuine desire for insight. It was pure hate bait. To make me appear selfish and neglectful.’
