Richard Madeley accidentally called James Haskell his son-in-law live on Good Morning Britain.

It comes after James’ split from the presenter’s daughter Chloe last month after he was seen cosying up to a blonde beauty at a bar.

Personal trainer Chloe, 36, issued a joint statement with former rugby player James, 38, confirming that the separation was amicable and would remain so for the sake of their 15-month old daughter, Bodhi.

But Richard, 67, is still referring to him as his son-in-law and used the phrase while talking about him on Monday’s GMB during a chat about the new series of I’m A Celeb which began on Sunday night.

Richard said of James starring on the show in 2019 and his changing popularity: ‘It is early days, I remember when my son in law James Haskell was in the Jungle doing really well and riding high in the polls and then he lost it.

‘He got into a massive row in camp, blew his stack and that was that!’

It came amid a chat with co-host Susanna Reid about which contestants this year were already favourites to win.

It comes after Chloe revealed her hopes for ‘a big family’ but admitted that she’s not ready to date again last week.

Inviting her Instagram followers to ask her questions, she shared some responses to her Story.

When one fan asked if she would like more children in the future, the TV personality replied: ‘I have a big family and want to keep it that way.’

Another person questioned: ‘Are you looking forward to dating or dreading it?’

Sharing a photo from a recent girls night out, Chloe admitted: ‘I want to be and will continue to be surrounded by females for the foreseeable.’

Recently Chloe spoke publicly for the first time about her separation from husband James, weeks after the couple confirmed their marriage was over.

Speaking to social media followers this week, she reflected on the end of their five-year marriage after the subject was broached by a fan.

After being asked whether ‘there was a chance’ they would get back together, she wrote: ‘James and I are not together anymore but we are determined to be the absolute best parents we can be to our amazing little girl.’

The Q&A came after Haskell was spotted partying in Ibiza with a lookalike of Chloe only weeks before announcing their marriage split.

The former England rugby player was pictured with Chloe McLennan in the summer while sharing a booth at Ibiza’s Ocean Beach Club.

According to a source for The Sun, Ms McLennan, also known as DJ Loeca, shared some advice on the industry with James.

The source revealed that people knew Haskell’s career change took a toll on his marriage because he was often away from home, saying: ‘James and Chloe got to know each other on the DJ circuit in Ibiza.

‘It’s no secret that James’s new career choice took its toll on his relationship and caused arguments at home.’

The added: ‘He was away a lot, forging his new brand, while she was in the UK being a mum to their 13-month-old daughter.’

The former couple confirmed their separation in a joint statement released last month after appearing in public without their wedding rings.

In a bitter twist of irony the couple recently released a fly-on-the-wall reality TV series, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair.

In a joint update shared to Haskell’s Instagram account, they announced: ‘Chloe and I mutually decided separate at the end of September, 2023.

‘We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time – certainly not while the television show was airing – but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand.’

In recent scenes from their ITV reality show, Haskell bore the brunt of Ms Madeley’s frustration after he jetted to Ibiza for a DJ gig – where he was pictured partying with a troupe of bikini-clad dancers.

His photos on social media showed him surrounded by scantily-clothed women – leaving his wife, who was back in the United Kingdom, less than impressed.

After spotting the pictures, she raged: ‘He’s on Instagram uploading videos and photos of all these girls, and I was like, “I will kill you. I will fly to Ibiza and kill you.”

‘He posted videos of him with loads of girls in thongs ‘cos he thinks that it like makes him look cool on social media. I’m like you’re a k*** and you make me look like a k***. Stop doing it.’
