A teenager was left seriously injured after plunging from a fairground ride in Mexico.
The 13-year-old girl suffered a hip injury after being thrown from the spinning ride at the Cozumel Fair, held at Quintana Roo Park, south of Cancun.
The young victim was hurled to the ground after it was alleged staff had failed to properly secure her safety bar.
The terrifying incident was caught on video by an onlooker, who filmed the attraction operating with approximately a dozen thrillseekers in its carriages.
As the ride spun, screams rang out, followed by a loud thud, signalling the moment the girl fell to the ground.
The teenager can be seen lying awkwardly on the platform, visibly stunned and in pain.
The clip concludes as it shows a ride operator approaching her to offer assistance as she lay slumped to the ground.
A mother, who was reportedly on the ride with her ten-year-old son, said they were both clinging on for ‘dear life’ and feared they would suffer the same fate.

The attraction has since been shut down by the authorities after it was found to have failed to comply with safety measures.
The operators could additionally face a fine for reported negligence, according to What’s The Jam.
A Civil Protection spokesperson said: ‘Our directorate in Cozumel acted decisively by closing down a ride at the local fair after a minor suffered a fall while it was in operation.
‘The accident resulted in injuries to the minor, who was taken to the hospital by her parents for medical treatment.
‘Civil Protection personnel immediately went to the site, conducted a thorough inspection and decided to close the fairground ride.
‘In addition, an administrative process was initiated against those responsible and a fine was issued.
‘We will not tolerate negligence that endangers the lives of fair visitors and we require operators to strictly follow the safety rules.’
One local warned: ‘Everyone should know the dangers of going on those cheap fair rides by now.’

Another local resident, Mia, added: ‘I can’t stand the fair anymore, it’s dangerous, disgusting, noisy, and every ride plays music at full volume.’
Gio added: ‘The organisers have to be held responsible for putting that girl in the hospital.’
The incident comes after an amusement park ride collapsed at a bustling Christmas fair in Mexico, injuring two as terrified witnesses tried to flee the wreckage.
Video of the collapse at the Acapulco Golf Club Monday night showed the Eiffel Tower cable car ride tilting and ultimately crashing to the ground.
