alert-–-selena-gomez’s-dramatic-weight-loss-shocks-fans-as-she-unveils-much-slimmer-look-at-2025-sag-awardsAlert – Selena Gomez’s dramatic weight loss shocks fans as she unveils much slimmer look at 2025 SAG Awards

Selena Gomez left fans absolutely mesmerized over her slimmed down physique as she attended the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night.

While arriving to the red carpet in a plunging navy gown, social media users were quick to notice that the actress, 32, appeared more slender and was glowing.

The Wolves hitmaker appeared in high spirits as she strutted into the event rocking a floor-length Celine dress, which featured off the shoulder sleeves and a thigh-high slit.

She completed her timeless look with a pair of strappy heels, from Jimmy Choo, and minimal accessories, apart from her marquise-shaped engagement ring from her fiancé Benny Blanco.

For a pop of color, the Rare Beauty founder rocked a bright shade of red lipstick and glamorous makeup look, consisting of bronzer, blush and black liquid eyeliner.

As she turned around, a few of her back tattoos, including the phrase ‘Love yourself first’ (written in Arabic), located below her right shoulder, were visible.

Although she is not nominated for any individual awards at the ceremony, she is vying for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for her work in Only Murders in the Building and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture alongside her Emilia Perez costars

Within moments of her arrival, her fans flocked to X to react to her beauty and how she looks like she is ‘living up to her fullest potential.’

‘Selena always knows how to shine at these events,’ one gushed.

Another wrote: ‘Wowwww….She is looking her absolute best these days.’

Some X users, however, speculated that she may be using ‘Ozempic’ or a weight loss.

One social media user even marveled that Gomez ‘looks different every time’ they see her.

In November, Gomez revealed she suffers from an intestinal illness called SIBO.

After viewing a since-deleted TikTok video that scrutinized her appearance, she commented: ‘This makes me sick. I have SEBO in my small intestine. It flares up. I don’t care that I don’t look like a stick figure. I don’t have that body. End of story. No I am NOT a victim. I’m just human.’

SIBO stands for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, which happens when ‘the passage of food and waste products in the digestive tract’ slows, ‘creating a breeding ground for bacteria,’ per the Mayo Clinic.

The condition is usually caused by ‘surgery or disease,’ the clinic said, as ‘symptoms include bloating, stomach pain, and malnutrition.’

Last year, Gomez been open up about how she use to previously cry her ‘eyes out’ over body shaming comments but is, now, ‘proud’ of who she is.

‘I’m not perfect but I am proud to be who I am… sometimes I forget it’s ok to be me,’ she wrote on Instagram.

In 2023, she also revealed that her lupus medication causes her weight to fluctuate.

At the time, the Disney Channel alum explained that she tends to ‘hold a lot of water weight’ due to several medications she takes and also encouraged fans to practice self-love even in moments of feeling shame.

While continuing to celebrate body positivity, the performer expressed that the minor side effect is incomparable to her health: ‘My medications are important, and I believe they are what helps me.’

In response to the haters, she told them to ‘go away, ’cause, honestly, I don’t believe in shaming people for [their] body or anything.’

‘So, yeah, not a model,’ she said, adding, ‘Never will be.’

She added: ‘And I think they’re awesome – mind you – I just, I’m definitely not that.’

The hitmaker then continued to encourage her fans to practice self-love and acceptance.

‘I just wanted to say and encourage anyone out there who feels any sort of shame for exactly what they’re going through and nobody knows the real story,’ she said.

‘I just want people to know that you’re beautiful and you’re wonderful.’

The Wizards of Waverly Place alum also stressed the importance of her health over appearances.

‘And yeah, we have days where maybe we feel like s***, but I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself,’ she said.

The month prior, the star clapped back at more body shaming comments that she received after attending the 2023 Golden Globes.

In an Instagram Live, Selena asked her nine-year-old half-sister Gracie: ‘I’m a little bit big right now, because I enjoyed myself during the holidays, right?’

In November, Gomez cited her ongoing health issues with a intestinal illness called SIBO as she defended her appearance during a recent outing at an industry event at the American French Film Festival (seen in October 2024)

Gracie appeared to agree before Selena added, ‘But we don’t care.’

She also called out body shamers in 2022 in a clip on her TikTok Stories.

‘Honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people b***h about it anyway. You’re too small, you’re too big, that doesn’t fit, Meh meh meh meh.’

‘B***h, I am perfect the way I am. Moral of the story? Bye,’ she concluded.

In her 2022 Apple TV+ docuseries, she admitted that despite portraying herself online as someone who didn’t care about the criticism of her body that the remarks actually hurt her feelings.

‘I lied. I would go online and I would post a picture of myself and I would say, ‘It doesn’t matter. I’m not accepting what you’re saying,’ she said. ‘All the while, being in the room posting and crying my eyes out because nobody deserves to hear those things.’

The Lose You To Love Me singer announced she had undergone kidney transplant in September 2017.

Her friend Francia Raisa made the life-saving decision to donate her kidney to Gomez, who at just 24 had suffered organ damage relating to her lupus diagnosis.
