TOWIE star fought off raiders at their £3.5M mansion as they become latest celebrities targeted by criminals

Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright are the latest celebrities to have suffered a home raid by a masked gang at their £3.5million Essex mansion.

It is reported four suspects entered their sprawling property for around a minute but hurried away when Mark started yelling.

Experts have claimed the pregnant actress, 37, and her TV star husband, 38, could have been preyed on due to their home Instagram page, which details how they created their ‘dream home.’

The Instagram account, Wrightyhome, documents the renovation the property went under as well as a look inside the lavish house as it looks now and boasts more than 663,000 followers and has been viewed millions of times.

Following the break in, ex-Met detective chief inspector Mick Neville told the Sun: ‘The vast majority of people will look at an Instagram page for the right reasons.’

‘But if you are going to put your home in the public spotlight then there will be wicked people who try to take advantage of that.

‘They will analyse images of the property to look for weaknesses in security and utilise that for their own nefarious purposes.’

An insider in Mark’s circle Mark insisted a high-level security system was put in place when he set up the Instagram account for their own protection.

The friend told the publication: ‘He was keen to make sure the house was protected when he set up the Instagram page.’

The couple’s burglary marks the latest in a sad trend of celebrity break-ins with stars targeted both while they are at home and away from the property.

Other famous faces who have been affected include Molly Mae Hague, Charlotte Crosby, Danielle Lloyd and Jack Grealish.

Molly Mae and Charlotte both spoke out after their ordeals to admit they thought they had possibly shared too much of their home and lives with fans.

After Mark and Michelle were victim to the ‘terrifying’ ordeal, takes a look at the other stars who have fallen victim to the same fate…

Molly Mae

Love Island stars Molly Mae Hague and Tommy Fury were victims of an £800,000 burglary at their Manchester apartment in 2021.

At around 10pm on Thursday 21 October, while the influencer, 22, and boxer, 21, were in London at her Beauty Works Christmas launch, an ‘experienced gang’ targeted their flat in Hale, Manchester and stole the vast quantity of goods.

Sources revealed to at the time that the couple will ‘never return’ to the property after being left ‘extremely shaken up’ and terrified by the crime.

The insider said: ‘They will never return back to their apartment again unfortunately they feel they have been targeted and don’t feel safe there any more. They really loved living there it’s a shame they have been forced out of their home.’

While Molly Mae and Tommy partied in London, the gang descended on their block of flats, in which there are five other properties.

An insider detailed: ‘It seems to be an experienced gang who know what they’re doing as they have had machinery and waited for Molly and Tommy to be away…

‘They have approached the property from the rear and smashed through their balcony windows and doors to gain access to their apartment. There is five apartments in the block but other neighbours were out too…

‘They have stolen approx 800k worth of belongings leaving them with nothing left other than what they had on them in their suitcases in London on the night of event..

‘Molly was pictured that night when the robbery happened at her Beauty Works x Molly Mae event in London. They seemed to have got scared off and departed quickly possible across the park at the back. It’s called Halecroft Park.’

While the burglary took place in Manchester, Molly and Tommy partied in London, where the blonde beauty was wearing a staggering collection of jewellery.

She wore a whopping £58,000 in jewellery on one single wrist, including a £40,000 white gold, 1.99 carat diamond Cartier band.

On the other wrist, she wore a £37,400 Cartier 18k gold 1.99 carat bangle with a rose gold Patek Phillipe watch bedazzled with an impressive 56 diamonds.

Her hands were decorated with £30,000 in sparking rings for the the Beauty Works x Molly-Mae event.

The influencer was seen with two Van Cleef & Arpels Vintage Alhambra necklaces around her neck as she posed-up at the event. The glistening chains matched the £3,800 bracelet partner Tommy gifted her earlier that year.

Molly frequently shared images of the inside of her home on social media and has spoken at length about her plans to purchase a property.

A source told the Sun at the time: ‘The fear is that the thieves saw evidence of Molly and Tommy’s shopping sprees on Instagram and decided to target them after that.

‘Even though Molly was extremely careful to keep her address private, everyone is worried the YouTube videos filmed in the flat may have tipped off the gang on how to get in.’

They added: ‘It’s such a shame as Molly worked so hard for everything she bought. It’s heartbreaking that she’ll never go back to the flat.’

Addressing the break in in a YouTube video soon afterwards, Molly-Mae admitted she may have ‘lost the balance’ of what she shared with her followers.

‘But I think seeing a lot of the things on social media and seeing a lot of people’s opinions about why we got robbed I started to think ”god was this my fault? Did I share too much? Did I do the wrong thing?”

‘That’s another thing I want to talk about in this video: how things are going to have to change now. At the end of the day, with a job like mine, my job is to literally share my life, that’s how I make a living.

‘I share every aspect of my life with you, things I buy, where I live, what I do with my boyfriend, where I’m going, it’s really hard to find that balance of sharing – so that you guys want to keep up with my life and see what I’m doing – but then also keeping my life private so that I stay safe.’

She noted: ‘I think I potentially lost that balance. Karma will come for the people that did it. It’s evil.’

When she bought her first home, Molly created a home account called Molly Maison, where she shares glimpses of her property.

Charlotte Crosby

Charlotte recently addressed a terrifying armed burglary that she suffered last year in an interview with – and admitted that she’s ‘rethinking her future’ after the invasion was caught on camera as part of her new TV show.

The 34 year old and fiance Jake Anker were subjected to an armed burglary at their £1 million Sunderland mansion back in November last year.

Charlotte exclusively told : ‘There’s lots of things that have happened over the past few months that are quite heavily featured, which I’ve never spoken about at all, because obviously it’s police matters.

‘But the burglary, everything like that, the show was there.

‘Do you know what I mean? But I’ve never spoke about that with anyone. I’ve not answered any interview questions. It’s a police matter like as it stands.

‘But basically, the show was with us 24/7, whilst all this was going on.

‘So there’s lots – there’s so much in every single episode and there’s only four episodes.

‘So like, you’re kind of not going to want it to end.’

After such a scary ordeal, when asked about if she felt nervous about opening her home up for the world to see on the telly, the mum-to-be admitted that it did make her ‘rethink’ her decision.

Charlotte admitted: ‘I’ve been in that house for a decade, and it’s been on TV all the way through them 10 years.

‘I think, after it happened, it definitely made us rethink like how much of the house I should really be showing.

‘Now I’ve got children. And so it definitely made us rethink a lot of things, having a lot of conversations and just like, thinking about a lot.

‘Yeah, I definitely think, not necessarily nervous… But definitely rethinking like, maybe the future.’

Charlotte was heavily pregnant with her unborn daughter when a gang of balaclava-masked raiders entered her home.

Jake took to his Instagram story to share his anger and shock at the situation.

The businessman said: ‘I can’t believe I’m saying this but some little c***s have tried to rob my house with my two-year-old and my partner who is nearly eight months pregnant, armed with a machete.’

Jake added on his story: ‘One of them who was in the house at the top of the stairs had a red balaclava on.

Danielle Lloyd

Danielle’s house was broken into last October while she was at a party with her husband Michael O’Neill and her five children.

The TV personality watched on her phone as three balaclava-clad robbers broke through a back door with a crowbar to steal designer watches, handbags and jewellery in just 90 seconds.

She told The Sun on Sunday: ‘It was terrifying. We were all angry and in absolute shock. It was definitely a targeted raid, they knew what they were looking for.

‘It was a Saturday night and we all went out to a Halloween party. We had only just arrived when our phones went off.

‘We have a professional security company, who contacted us plus we had a Ring doorbell at the back door they broke in through.

‘It meant we watched it, as it happened, on the company’s app. It took them 90 seconds to break in through a glass door at the back.’

A source previously told the publication that Danielle was so ‘shaken up’ by the robbery that she sold her house and moved to a different area.

Danielle has since revealed she is renovating a new property and has been sharing updates on her home page, Lavish Home Design UK.

The mother of four has been keeping her following updated along the way and the bio of the page reads that she is ‘building the dream’.

Prior to this she has shared a taste of her previous home and glamorous lifestyle with husband Michael O’Neill and their children online.

Jack Grealish

Danielle’s home was targeted by the same gang who stole £1million worth of jewellery and watches from Jack when they raided his Cheshire home.

In December 2023, the Manchester City star’s £5.6million mansion was hit by thieves while he was away at Everton on playing duty.

His long-term partner Sasha Attwood was at home with 10 family members when the break-in occurred, and quickly raised the alarm at the property.

A massive search was initiated involving helicopters and dogs, and according to reports, the burglary gang attempted to raid the mansion one month before the attack but were scared off when they spotted a police car nearby.

A source has told the Sun in July that Jack was still ‘on edge’ about the situation.

He was informed about the raid by City’s head of player support and protocol Manel Estiarte after the final whistle of City’s 3-1 Goodison Park victory on Boxing Day.

Concern was etched on the player’s face as he rushed down the tunnel to the dressing room.

Speaking on the matter for the first time after the match, City manager Guardiola said: ‘The family was inside, it is what it is today, modern days, with many things happening.

‘It was a bad moment for him and his family but fortunately the family was not damaged [harmed].’

His home in Cheshire lies in an affluent area that is thought to have been targeted by a number of professional burglary gangs from Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Chile.

He is not the only Premier League footballer to have been targeted by raids, with Joelinton, Victor Lindelof and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all suffering the same.

After the event, Jack said on Instagram: ‘I can’t begin to explain how devastated I am over the burglary that took place at my home.’

‘My family means the world to me and nothing is more important than ensuring their safety.

‘This has been a traumatic experience for all of us, I am just so grateful that nobody was hurt.’

Tamara Ecclestone

Tamara was subject to a shocking break in where thieves stole £25m worth of jewellery and cash in a targeted raid.

The 40-year-old socialite’s £70m mansion on ‘Billionaire’s row’ in Kensington, West London was targeted in what is believed to be the UK’s biggest ever domestic raid. At the time, Tamara was away on holiday with her family.

Although six years have passed since the robbery, Tamara admitted that it’s still been a tough road. She’s had to make significant changes and take extra precautions to feel secure again.

She told The Mirror: ‘It has been tough, I’ve had to adjust and put measures in place to make myself feel as secure as possible. Sadly, London is a scary place, lots of my friends have experienced similar things.’

In 2021 three men from Italy pleaded guilty to conspiracy to burgle after a series of raids – including on the nearby home of Frank and Christine Lampard.

The men were sentenced to eight to 11 years in prison and returned to Italy to serve their terms.

Tamara, the daughter of F1 mogul Bernie Ecclestone, is married to art investor Jay Rutland, 43, with whom she starred in the ITV reality show Tamara’s World. The couple share daughters, Sophia, 10, and Serena, 4.

Tamara also opened up about the emotional impact on her eldest daughter, Sophia, who struggled to feel safe at home after the traumatic experience.

She shared: ‘She did struggle so we’ve just been just trying to make it as safe as possible at home and move forward. There’s nothing we can do about it.’

‘We have talked a lot about it to her and she’s in a much better place. Seeing her even have those thoughts at such a young age was really hard to cope with.’

Last month, Tamara revealed she believes the burglary at her home was an ‘inside job’ – and fears some of the culprits may never face justice in the UK.

The star spoke out for the first time since raiders ransacked her home six years ago, making off with diamonds and other valuables.

She told The Times: ‘It’s actually quite hard to talk about because my daughter now has access to Google.’

‘We lied to her when it happened because she was young, but she found out anyway.’

Tamara also shared that she now travels with two bodyguards out of fear of being kidnapped, as her 5ft 4in father has fallen victim to several burglaries.

She described how the burglary has ‘definitely made me feel that things aren’t always as they appear, people you think you can trust, you can’t always trust, which is a lesson I’ve learnt time and time again. This time it really hit home.’

The socialite expressed frustration over the fact that potential offenders remain on the run, while none of the 400 stolen items have been recovered.

She added: ‘The biggest letdown really is that the [other] people who did it will probably never be extradited to the UK.’

‘I think it is worse getting caught and then nothing actually happening to them.’

When asked whether she thought the burglary was an ‘inside job’, she replied: ‘I’m not really allowed to speak about that but I don’t see how it’s not.’

Tamara also said of the aftermath: ‘I just felt violated. We thought about moving, or moving country.’

‘But then I thought, actually, this is my house and, before this happened, this has been such a happy place.’

She had purchased the home for £45 million in 2011, though properties on the same street are now valued at over £200 million.

Chloe Ferry

Last year, Chloe revealed that her £1.1 million Newcastle mansion is constantly targeted by burglars, and at one point they were coming twice a week.

The reality star, 28, said she was forced to bump up security when she recorded footage of thieves’ attempts to break in on multiple occasions.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun about her scary ordeal, Chloe said: ‘Someone tries to rob my house all the time. Last month has been the longest month when no one has tried to rob it.

‘I’ve got gates on my property, because it’s been that bad, because they’re climbing over my gates, we’ve put spikes on the gates but since I’ve put spikes on they haven’t been back.’

She continued: ‘It was really bad at one point when they were coming twice a week. But I’ve got gates luckily, but they started jumping over the gates but luckily touch wood they haven’t come back.’

The star moved into the mansion in 2021 and frequently posts herself in its various rooms to her Instagram.

In February 2023, Chloe revealed that she was ‘shaking’ after thieves broke into her salon, which saw the back door of the property being smashed and vandalised.

Explaining that the burglars had robbed ‘everything’ from the salon, Chloe said to the camera: ‘What is wrong with people? You’ve taken all of our stock’.

Unable to contain her anger, Chloe continued to threaten that she had ‘secret cameras’ in the salon and was going to check who had broke in and ‘plaster you all over my social media’.

The TV personality, who boasts 3.8 million Instagram followers, opened Newcastle salon CM House of Aesthetics back in 2019 and co-owns it with Maeve Mathieson.

Angrily taking to her Instagram Stories, Chloe explained that she and her co-owner found out that their salon had been broken into the night following a workout.

‘So me and Maeve have just left the gym and we’re absolutely shaking. We’ve just had a phone call that last night someone has physically broken into the salon last night, smashed the back door and took everything.

‘They’ve taken all of our awards off the wall. And just to let you know, whoever has done it, we’ve got a secret camera, I’m gonna find out who you are and I’m gonna post it all over my social media man.’

She continued: ‘What is wrong with people man? They took all of our stock. I’m literally in shock. Like how anyone could do that to another person, they’ve literally broken in and smashed all the back door.

‘They probably think that we don’t have a camera on the back door but oh darling yes we do. So, I’m literally going to the salon now and checking the cameras.’

Chloe added a serious of angry face emojis over the clips, while Maeve called one of the salon employees and asked if they were OK after the incident.

Threatening to expose the thief to her many millions of followers, the reality star continued: ‘If you don’t come forward in the next couple of hours, I am going to plaster you all over my Instagram.’

She then arrived to the salon and filmed the damages, which saw planks of wood all fallen at the bottom of the stairs, with the back door broken open.

Dust covered the carpeted stairs and was scattered throughout the salon leading to the door.

Davide Sanclimenti

Davide Sanclimenti has said almost £1 million worth of items were stolen from his Los Angeles home in August last year.

Davide said on Instagram at the time that he had lost ‘precious and personal belongings’ worth about £933,312 in the theft, which he claimed took six minutes.

The former Love Island winner told fans he is ‘trying to stay positive’ and added that he will be moving house as a result of the incident.

Sanclimenti won the eighth series of the ITV reality show in 2022, alongside then-partner Ekin-Su Culculoglu.

The pair split in June 2023 and got back together in the same year, before breaking up again in January this year.

It came amid a spate of burglaries targeting the homes of the rich and famous in Los Angeles where several high profile people were targetted.

He has also appeared in Ekin-Su And Davide: Homecomings, which saw the couple embark on two trips to his hometown in Italy, and her hometown in Turkey.

Speaking about the theft on Instagram, Sanclimenti said: ‘I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has displayed their concern and is DMing me and asking why I have been quiet over socials.

‘As you all know I’m living in LA atm. Our home got broken into and was robbed of nearly 1.2m worth of precious and personal belongings, gone within six minutes.

‘Just goes to show the saying is true, the evil always target the pure hearted, but I’m trying to stay positive that the good people will always win in the end.

‘I’m taking a few days to reset, change house and keep moving forward.’

He posted photos which showed empty shelves with just a couple of items – including a Christian Dior bag – left strewn on the floor, seemingly dropped in the robbers’ haste.

The thieves were thorough, even reportedly taking a safe, using a drill to extract it from a closet.
