Harrison Ford’s former Los Angeles home that he bought for $1million after he made Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi has hit the market for $20 million, according to Realtor.com.

Ford owned the house for nearly 30 years, from 1983 until 2012, and even did some work on it himself as he used to be a carpenter.

It is also in a prized gated neighborhood in Brentwood near the famed Getty Center Museum.

The Indiana Jones actor sold the sprawling home for $8.2 million to Kevin Reilly, the former Chief Content Officer of HBO Max.

Reilly was the owner of the house for just four years as he sold it in 2016 for $12 million.

The next owner was Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel and his model wife Miranda Kerr. Now the power couple has listed the home to move into a mansion they created in Holmby Hills which cost $145 million for the land alone.

This comes after Kerr listed her Malibu dwelling for $4.5 million earlier this year.

The property was originally designed by noted architect Gerard Colcord in 1951.

The home sits on almost 1 acre. The home is just over 7,000 square feet with four bedrooms, all of which has ensuite bathrooms.

The outdoor space is generous.

There is a long swimming pool ideal for doing laps. At the end of the pool is a pool house for showering and resting.

The space also holds two detached guesthouses.

Inside the main house there are several rooms, like a stand alone dining room, a huge living room and a library.

Kerr welcomed her fourth child – son Pierre Kerr Spiegel – in Febraury.

Before the child was born she told ‘s Herald Sun newspaper: ‘[Being] 40, pregnant with baby number four, it’s a wonderful time in my life. I feel a lot of gratitude, really…

‘[I am] craving a lot of citrus, grapefruit and freshwater with lemon.

‘With one of the boys, I craved apples, another frozen yoghurt – and now I am craving oranges. With another one, I was like, ‘please give me a burger!’

The KORA Organics founder described her home life as ‘organized chaos’ because there’s always something going on.

She said: ‘There’s quite a lot going on, never a dull moment between kindergarten drop off, preschool drop off, now Flynn is in Grade 7 – it’s all happening. And I am pregnant.’

But with Miranda and Snapchat founder Evan often busy with work, she makes sure they schedule regular time for ‘date nights’ away from the children.

She said: ‘My husband is growing his business, I’m growing my business, luckily we’re both … homebodies, so we really enjoy being with our family at home, spending time together.

‘It’s important to take that time together leading such busy lives as it is, with the kids and with our businesses, it’s important to have time for the two of us as well.

‘I make sure we do date night once a week.’

Meanwhile, Miranda believes there is a lot more ‘pressure’ on young models now than there was when she first started her career because of the rise of social media.

She said: ‘It was very different – there wasn’t social media at all when I started modelling.

‘We didn’t have that extra pressure that I am sure a lot of the girls feel these days.

This comes after Ford grew emotional as he thanked wife Calista Flockhart for her ‘support’.

The 81-year-old actor was honoured at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday (14.01.24) with the Career Achievement Award and as he reflected on his lengthy body of work and lasting success, he got choked up.

He told the audience at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica: ‘First of all, I’m really happy to be here and just see what our business is turning into.

‘And all of the talented people who are getting opportunities that probably would not have existed in the early part of my career. I’m very happy about that.

‘I’m here because of a combination of luck and the work of wonderful directors, writers and filmmakers. I feel enormously lucky.

‘I’m happy for this honour, and I appreciate it very much.’

He then grew emotional as he paid tribute to his wife, with the ‘Ally McBeal’ star also tearful as the camera cut to her.

He said: ‘I want to thank my lovely wife, Calista Flockhart, who supports me when I need a lot of support. And I need a lot of support.’

And Harrison went on to pay tribute to his ‘fine’ co-stars from over the years.

He said: ‘I’m grateful to all the fine actors … I’ve worked with and I’m deeply happy to have had the opportunities that I’ve had and I’m grateful.

‘I’m deeply happy to have had the opportunities that I’ve had, and I’m grateful. I won’t take any more of your time. Thank you.’

Harrison’s ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ director James Mangold had presented him with the award.

The 60-year-old filmmaker said: ‘The largest stars in the known universe are called variable hypergiants … Of course Harrison Ford is a star. However, I submit tonight that he is a variable hypergiant.

‘A star so big he contains multitudes. A star so unique he attracts other stars. He has warmed each of our lives.’

James then listed several of the veteran actor’s biggest films, including ‘Working Girl’, ‘Blade Runner’, ‘American Graffiti’, ‘Apocalypse Now’ and ‘Witness’.

He then quipped: ‘The fact that I spit out that incredible, enviable list of films and performances without even mentioning ‘Star Wars.’

He added: ‘Harrison’s body of work is breathtaking. It is utterly timeless. It is authentic, deeply felt, masculine but vulnerable, often moving and frequently hilarious. His work has been wildly popular and critically revered, and it represents the voice of a singular artist.’
