alert-–-rise-and-shine!-easter-revellers-will-wake-up-with-a-few-sore-heads-today-after-hitting-the-streets-of-britain-to-celebrate-the-four-day-weekendAlert – Rise and shine! Easter revellers will wake up with a few sore heads today after hitting the streets of Britain to celebrate the four-day weekend

Revellers across the country will be waking up with sore heads this morning after hitting the pubs and clubs last night to make the most of the four-day-weekend.

Party animals were seen stumbling through the streets of Leeds, Newcastle and Birmingham in force as they enjoyed the Easter Bank Holiday.

As wine, beer and spirts flowed in crowded pubs, punters, many in fancy dress, danced and drank the night away as they brought in British Summer Times in style.

The hour less in bed did not stop youngsters staying out to the early hours of Sunday morning before piling into kebab shops.

Some appeared to have had one too many tipples as they were seen being picked up off the floor, having rows in the street or being scolded by police officers

Outfits on show included Mario and Luigi, Ali G, cowgirls and of course, Easter bunnies.

Yesterday, Brits made the most of the Easter Saturday sun in Leeds as they dressed up for the infamous Otley Run.

Some were seen in fancy dress while others wore skimpy outfits to go on the pub crawl with their friends.

Easter bunnies, sailor girls and cricket lads were pictured tackling the mammoth route of 17 venues.

Pictures also show some people falling on the floor while smiling during the mid-afternoon boozy session.

The historic pub crawl starts at Woodies pub in Far Headingley and finishes at The Dry Dock on the edge of the city centre.

The challenge is to have a drink in each of the 17 pubs along the way.

Revellers also hit the town on Friday night as they kicked off the four-day weekend.

With some in elaborate jockey outfits, others enjoyed the occasion as cheerleaders, aliens and even supervillains.

But as the Easter Bank Holiday started in earnest police forces also took to the street in force – with one man on Birmingham Broad Street having to be hauled away by police after a scuffle in a takeaway.

Luckily, the rain held off as revellers danced the night away in skimpy outfits despite the brisk winds.

After a period of unsettled weather, people across the country have finally seen some sunshine, especially in central and northern parts.

After a chilly start on Sunday, there will be another warm day with brighter spells.

Highs of 16C are forecast in central and southern parts of England and 15C in the north west of England.

Monday is likely to be mostly fine and the driest area will be the north of the UK.

The best sunshine will be in the north west of Scotland.

There is a chance of further rain affecting the south and south east of England.

There is also a small chance this could end up being more widespread across England and Wales.
