The New York Jets have announced defensive lineman Haason Reddick signed an adjusted one-year deal with the team on Saturday morning and is expected to make his season debut on Sunday.
Reddick was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Jets this offseason and expected a contract extension to go along with the move that never materialized.
After holding out since training camp, the three-month wait for his debut with his new green team looks like it will come to an end tomorrow as the Jets face the Patriots, per ESPN.
Reddick’s holdout for a new contract has cost him more than $10million.
Reddick would have profited more than $2million each from preseason games and training camp. There was also a $250,000 workout bonus and over $100,000 from minicamp he left on the table, per Spotrac.

Reddick has sat out for the Jets first seven regular season games, losing $791,666 per contest, which is nearly $200,000 per quarter. That adds up to $5,541,662 this season.
Jets owner Woody Johnson had hoped the holdout would have ended sooner, as he believes New York is a better team with an edge-rusher the caliber of Reddick on the field.
Johnson’s latest public plea came on October 8, the day he fired former head coach Robert Saleh.
‘I hope that the young man can come to the team. We’d like to have Haason here,’ Johnson said. ‘We’d welcome him with open arms. I will extend that. And I haven’t talked to (interim head coach) Jeff (Ulbrich), but I think he would feel exactly the same way.’
‘So when he gets here, he’ll find a very welcome locker room, and he’ll be able to fit right in, but he’s got to get here first.’
‘So Haason, get in your car, drive down 95 and come to the New York Jets, and we can we can meet you and give you an escort right into the building and you’ll fit right in and you’re going to love it here, and you’re going to feel welcome. And you’re going to accomplish great things with us.’
The Jets enter tomorrow’s clash with New England at 2-5, losing their grip on the 2024 season with the crammed window to capitalize on 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers’ time at quarterback.
New York has a golden opportunity to start to gain ground in the AFC playoff race in facing one of the league’s worst teams in the Patriots.
Reddick joining the team could put less pressure on Rodgers, who turns 41 in December.
