Rosie O’Donnell was thrilled to catch Joni Mitchell at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night in her first public sighting since her 27-year-old daughter Chelsea Belle O’Donnell’s mounting legal troubles.
The 62-year-old comedian – wearing a beige blazer and rainbow-hued camouflage pants – was joined at the concert by her 21-year-old daughter Vivienne Rose O’Donnell, who’s a senior enrolled at the University of Delaware.
‘The good people at the Hollywood Bowl upgraded my tickets so I’m in the very, very front area, which I’m so thrilled about,’ Rosie – who boasts 2.9M social media followers – gushed on TikTok.
‘She is the best living artist, I think, in the world today. What she’s overcome after having her stroke. I saw her at The Gorge [last year] with Brandi Carlile and the Joani Jam and it was the best night of my life ever at an entertainment venue.
‘She’s just given us so many unbelievable lyrics and melodies and harmonies. She’s unique and she’s the best. I know all of her lyrics and can quote them at anytime.’

A few hours earlier, O’Donnell performed a quick show at the Dynasty Typewriter aka the Hayworth Theatre in downtown Los Angeles where she received a standing ovation.
The 12-time Emmy winner’s sighting came the same day she broke her silence about Chelsea, writing: ‘Sadly this is not new for our family – Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade – we [are] all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease.’
Chelsea is due back in Wisconsin court on November 4 to face four felony counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, child neglect, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of THC as well as multiple misdemeanor charges.
The troubled mother-of-four remains in custody at Oconto County Jail, and Child Protective Services arranged for her one-year-old son Atlas to be taken by one of her babydaddy Jacob Nelund’s friends – according to In Touch.
Rosie (born Roseann) has been estranged on/off with Chelsea as far back as 2015 when the then 17-year-old ran way from their New York home for a week.
O’Donnell also welcomed two sons – Parker Jaren O’Donnell, 29; and Blake Christopher O’Donnell, 24 – during her three-year relationship with ex-wife #1 Kelli Carpenter, which ended in 2007.
The Menendez Brothers: Victims or Villains star adopted her youngest, non-binary child – 11-year-old Dakota ‘Clay’ O’Donnell – during her two-year marriage to late ex-wife #2 Michelle Rounds, which ended in 2015.
Career-wise, Rosie will next portray Mary in the third season of Michael Patrick King’s dismally-reviewed SATC continuation And Just Like That, which premieres next year on Max.
