‘You did some crazy things with a headpiece in front of your body, you put your arm around me …a girl doesn’t want any more than that. loved you, John.

‘All I can say is, there was never anything [negative] between you and I, but people enjoyed it and we had a lot of fun- and isn’t that the business we’re in? Entertainment- we’re here to have fun!’

Admitting it had taken him around two years to find the courage to watch the notorious moment, John added that he’d been surprised by the different reaction to the interview in the US and – with ns thinking it was ‘funny’ but Americans less amused.

‘I’m not blaming any ns, but I got off the plane (in Sydney) and they were like, “Hey, mate! Come have some drinks with us!”‘ John said.

Stamos says it was his DUI arrest in 2015 that got him on the road to sobriety.
